Elegant monochrome interior 85 m² apartment
The apartment was originally sold as a two-room apartment, but we needed three bedrooms – master, children’s, and guest, which can turn into a second nursery, as well as a spacious dressing room and a bathroom. So the idea was born to abandon the corridors and make a walk-through kitchen-living room, from where you can go to each of the bedrooms.
Customers – a family of three, dad, mom, owners of a cosmetic clinic, and a seven-year-old son who is seriously interested in hockey. I was asked to create the feeling of a large apartment. Initially, the style was declared as minimalism, but in the work process, I realized that it did not suit the client in any way.
It was evident that she wanted something cozy, warm, and with elements of romance. The main wish of the client was to completely abandon bright colors and colored details. This moment turned out to be the most difficult for me. I really love color, so I had to stop myself all the time. But this was the special beauty of the work.
For me it was a completely new experience – to make an interior interesting without color, playing only on the difference in textures. Almost all the furniture – the table in the living room, furniture in the nursery, all the furniture in the bedroom and living room – was made according to my sketches. Not being able to use color, I had to balance on a combination of veneer, paint and brass.
